blotting kits is primarily with research applications where target analyte is an antigen, non-
specifically (via essentially "physical adsorption") immobilized onto membrane (usually
after PAGE separation) from complex proteinacous mixtures and then detected through
interaction with primary and further enzyme-labeled secondary (anti-species) antibody,
#MMAHP-BLOT is designed for diagnostic serological Western-blot applications, where
known natural (after PAGE) or recombinant/synthetic antigens are localized in
predetermined band/spot positions onto reproducibly fabricated membrane. Said membrane
with an array of antigens usually representative of specific pathogen (in infectious
serological diagnostics) is brought into reaction with patient's serum. Binding of specific
antibodies, if present, in characteristic membrane zones, visualized via anti-species (IgG)
enzymatic conjugate and precipitating substrate, is indicative of infection or moreover of its
specific development/progression stage.
